Chapter Four: Bad Moon Rising
Luka sat on the edge of the bed in the loft he'd rented. Tonight was the full moon, and for once, he dreaded it. He thought about chaining himself up, but knew that was futile. No chains could hold him when he let the beast out of it's cage unless they were enchanted. Besides, Kira had called him earlier wanting to meet him later this afternoon. He tried to tell her it wouldn't be a good idea, but she insisted, said she had something important to discuss. He knew he should have said no, but he wanted to see her too. It was more than just the mating bond that attracted him to her now. She'd defiantly stood up to him, refusing to be part of his mating process, and he respected her for that. Truthfully, that might have been the moment he started to fall for her. None of that mattered now though. The full moon would rise soon, and after tonight she'd hate him forever.
Later that afternoon, Luka picked up Kira and they headed to one of the local clubs. He went to the bar and ordered her a drink. When he gave her the drink, she asked, "Is something wrong, Luka? You've been awfully quiet." Since she had made up her mind about him, she was already nervous about tonight, and he wasn't making matters any better.
"No. I'm sorry. My mind is just on some other things right now." he replied. He felt incredibly guilty. Enough that he was about to warn her about tonight. He could hold the beast in for awhile, but when the moon rose highest in the sky, he'd lose his grip for sure. "Kira, I nee-"
"Dance with me." she interrupted him. She sat her drink down and grab his hand as she lead him over to the dance floor.
Luka wrapped his hands around her waist as they slowly moved to the live music that was being played. "For Hekate's sake, Luka. Lighten up." Kira said.
"Who is that anyways?" he asked, trying to take his mind off their impending doom.
"Hekate? She's the goddess we worship. In the beginning of Wiccae, there were three goddess witches, sisters. Hela was purely good, Häxa was purely evil, and Hekate is a mixture of both."
"So, you worship someone who is part evil?"
"She's a balance. We believe it's all about the balance. All good is bad. The universe can't handle all creation without destruction. It's like, too much sun will give you a desert." she tried to explain.
"I suppose that makes sense." he said as he twirled her around the dance floor.
Luka was stiff with stress, and this dance was nothing like their first one. He was rough and unbalanced. He'd even stepped on Kira's toes once and after his apology, Kira decided to try and turn the night around. "Luka, I've been thinking.." Kira started, but that was all he heard. The moon was starting to rise and he knew he had to hold the beast in as long as he could. "Luka?" Kira gasped in surprise as he started to shake slightly. He let go of her and ran out the door.
He made it to the next ally over before he couldn't run anymore. He dropped to the ground and dug his claws into the concrete. He could feel the beast fighting to get out, but he fought back.
Kira was completely oblivious to the inner turmoil Luka was going through. She raced down to find him on the ground. "What the hell, Luka?" she asked.
"The full moon. You doona want tae be here." he growled.
"Bu..but you said you could fight it!" she exclaimed.
"I lied, and I'm truly sorry, but you are goin' tae have to fuss at me later. Right now you need tae run. I doona know how long I can hold it."
"Luka, please. Not like this." she said as she took a few steps back.
"RUN!" he howled as he tore deeper into the concrete.
Kira took off. She was petrified. The look in his ice blue eyes had been wild and crazy. He looked like he was on the verge of losing all control and she knew she needed to be far away from him when that happened.
Kira thought she had made it at least a few miles from the club, but she had no idea where she was. Her dress was ripped, she was muddy, one of the heels on her shoes had broken, and her hair was fun of leaves and twigs. She'd also fallen over a stump and twisted her ankle. This wasn't turning out to be the romantic night she'd had in mind. How fucking stupid could I be? I was dating a Lykae and I didn't think it would be wise to keep up with the moon cycle? How did I even make it alive to see five centuries? she thought, angry with herself . She sighed and starting walking again. Please don't find me, Luka. I don't want it to happen this way. she thought as she made her way through the woods. She heard a twig snap behind her and she completely froze. She slowly turned around and there he was, completely naked, covered in dirt. She trembled as he roared. "Luka, please. I beg you." she said frantically. He looked at the frightened look on his mate's face. He'd never been ashamed of what he was, until right now. Kira watched as Luka took a step closer to her. He raised his claw tipped hand and petted her face gently. The look in his eyes told Kira that he didn't want this anymore than she did, but he couldn't control it. His beast side already had one leg out of the cage, and soon he'd be running the show. Luka was trying to calm her down before it fully emerged. "Doona want tae hurt you. Canna hold on much longer." he rasped out. "Maith dom." he gasped out in Gaelic, forgive me.
Kira took a deep breath. The self-loathing radiating from him pulled on her heartstrings. She had planned on sleeping with him tonight. This wasn't the way she had intended it to go, but it looked like this was what she was getting. If she fought him, she knew he would never forgive himself for it, and when he petted her face to try to sooth her, it hit her like a ton of bricks. She loved him, and she didn't want him to hate himself for what was about to happen. She closed her eyes to gather up her courage. She unzipped her dress and let it fall to the ground. There she stood in front of him, as naked as he was. He stepped closer to her, and kissed her. It became more frantic as he let his hands explore her body. He cupped her breast and lightly squeezed as he nibbled on her neck. Kira moaned in his ear, and the sound almost made him lose control completely, but he was determined to mate with her before the beast broke free. He held on by a thread as his mouth moved down to her breast and he took her nipple into his mouth, sucking and biting. As he went to the other nipple, his hand slid down her belly. She rolled her hips up for his touch. Before he obliged, he bit off his claws, so he wouldn't hurt her. He let his finger slip through her folds to find her already slick with wetness. She was tense at first, but started to relax as his finger went deeper inside of her. He withdrew only to return with two fingers, while circling her clitoris with his thumb. Her panting began to quicken, and when she announced she was close, he stopped, making her need him as much as he needed her.
With his palm flat against her lower back, he bent her over, pressing her face into the dirt. He ran his clawed hand down her back, lightly scratching her, as he admired the view of his mate. Her ass was in the air, waiting, trembling with anticipation. He slapped her ass and grunted with approval at her surprised yelp. "Luka, please." she begged, needing to be filled by him. Luka plugged into her all the way to the hilt. Kira yelled out in a mixture of pleasure and pain. Luka threw back his head and roared so loudly, she could feel the vibrations from his chest. He made himself pause, so she could get accustomed to him, murmuring praises to her in Gaelic. When she was used to his size, he pulled out and plunged into her again, going deeper than she thought possible. Both were mindless with pleasure as he took her in the dirt.
Luka withdrew from her, and guided her over to a tree. She spread her legs and leaned against it. He pounded into her once more. She dug her nails into the tree, as she began coming closer to climax. "Yes! Don't stop, Luka" she panted, as he continued to drive into her.
Luka bent down to find the soft spot at Kira's neck. He opened his mouth and sunk his fangs into her neck, marking her as his. Kira screamed as the waves of pleasure rolled over her as she began to orgasm. It was one like she'd never had before. Her body shuddered with every wave until she was sated. Luka quickly followed her, mindlessly pumping in to her with his fangs still in her neck, until he ejaculated into her with a broken yell against her skin. He reluctantly released his bite, but remained inside of her, throbbing and needing to drive into her again. So he dragged her to the ground with him.
This time he let her ride him, as the moon reached it's apex, and there was no way he could keep the beast in any longer. He roared in pleasure as she moaned his name, and they both gave themselves up to the beast within him.
The sun started to rise as the beast returned to his cage, completely satisfied. Neither one of them knew what tonight would bring them, but they also couldn't have guessed it would end this way. After almost eight hundred years, Luka had finally claimed his mate, and she'd let him. He never imagined he could have held the beast back long enough to mate with her, but he suspected he'd jump through fiery hoops for her, if that's what she wanted. Kira laid cuddled into his arms and swiftly fell asleep. Luka looked down at her neck and noticed how hard he'd mark her. With her being Other he didn't want to take any chances. Kira softly murmured his name in her sleep. He smiled and pulled her closer to him. He wasn't sure what eternity had in store for them, but in this moment he'd never felt more alive, and he knew it was all because of her.

AUTHOR'S NOTES:
Wow, you guys. I didn't mean for that to be sort of graphic, and I am totally blushing over here. Hopefully the sexy time scene lived up to everyone's expectations. I'm going to be on pins and needles waiting to hear what everyone thought about it.
This concludes their life in "New York." In my next chapter, we will be traveling 30 years into the future, which surprisingly will be no different from the present, to New Orleans. I really had no choice in this, since I messed up with Kira's vision of the future, and I don't have enough things to write about to fill up 30 years. Lol. Also, thanks to Melissa's suggestion, Emmalina, from my Burkhart legacy that sadly died, will be making a special appearance in my next chapter. She seems to be having trouble with a certain vampire who claims she's his bride. *wink, wink*
Also, for Luka's accent, after some research, I decided to replace "to" with "tae." Hopefully that's right. I don't want to get to crazy with it, else some people might find it hard to follow. Also the Gaelic I used was actually Irish. I tried so hard to find the word "Forgive" in Scottish Gaelic all over Google, but apparently it doesn't exist, so I gave up and used Irish. I'm guessing most of you would have never known that if I hadn't sad something, but I didn't want anyone to get offended, so I just wanted to clarify that error.
As always, thanks to everyone who reads and comments. My favorite part is reading everyone's reactions, and the comments on this chapter should be entertaining to say the least.

Chapter Three: Total Eclipse of the Heart
Three days later, Kira was getting ready for her first date with Luka. She'd curled her hair and put on her dress. Tonight, Luka was taking her to one of the upscale restaurants on the Upper East Side. As she looked in the mirror, she never realized how nervous she would be. Deep breaths. It's just a date. Nothing to be nervous about, she thought, trying to calm her nerves. But deep down she knew that was a lie. She'd seen the future, and knew where this path may lead her. She just couldn't decide if that was what she wanted.
Luka got off the elevator in Kira's apartment building when his phone rang. "MacRieve." he answered.
"We are heading to the airport now. Is there anything you need before we leave?" Leland asked.
"No. I'm all set. I'll see you in a few weeks."
"Luka, remember what I said." Leland cautioned.
"You doona have to remind me. I know how this could end." Luka said grimly. He would either win his mate over, or die trying. Those were his only options. "Did you get the information I asked for?"
"Aye. Witches are physically the weakest in the Lore. They are separated by castes, but I doona know what they are. They are mercenaries, and will no' help anyone without some kind of payment first. They are notorious for partying and they ally with the Valkyries. That's all I was able to get, and that information set you back about three hundred thousand pounds."
"Thanks. I doona know how useful it will be but, it's better than going in blind. I'm at her apartment. I'll see you when I get home." he said and hung up. He walked over to her door and breathed in, smelling her scent. It calmed his beast immediately. He raised his hand and knocked on the door.
Kira opened the door to find Luka on the other side. "You look beautiful." he said as he let his gaze take her in. The fabric of her dress clung to every curve of her body, which made him want to rip it off so he could caress each one. "Thank you." Kira said with a smile.
Luka cleared his throat as he tried to push the thoughts out of his head. "I have a car waiting downstairs. Are you ready to go?" He asked. "Yes, just let me grab my purse." She answered.
After arriving to the restaurant, they were sat down at a table and ordered their meals. "So what caste do you belong to?" He asked, trying to get to know her better.
"I see you've done your homework. Is that supposed to impress me?"
"No. I just wanted to know about my mate."
"Don't call me that." she said with irritation. "I know you may think we are destined to spend eternity together, but I'm not even sure if I like you as a person."
Luka sighed. This wasn't going the way he'd hoped. "Fine. What do you want to know?"
"By your accent, I'm assuming you're from Scotland?"
"Aye. I've lived there my entire life. What about to you?" he asked.
"Oh, here and there. I moved around a lot, but for the past two hundred years I've been living in North America."
"What about your family?" he asked her as the waiter brought them their food. Family was important to the Lykae clan. They were close and would die for each other if it was necessary. They might be the beasts of all Lorean kind, but they had the biggest heart, and they were extremely protective of their own.
"I never knew my father, and my mother died in the last accession when I just a toddler. I was raised by the elder witches in my mother's coven." She answered as she cut through her salmon.
"I'm sorry about your mother. I've lost both my parents and older brother." he said sadly. It had been seven hundred years since their deaths, but it still hurt.
"What happened?" she asked
"My father was killed in the last accession after the vampire horde attacked the castle. My mother could no' handle it and her beast took over, causing her to be driven mad. After slaughtering two local villages, she was finally capture. We tried everything to make her pull her beast back in, but it was no use. She was lost. My brother decided to take revenge after my mother's death, and set out to the vampire horde's castle in Russia. That was the last I ever saw of him." He said as he recalled those events so many centuries ago. He was isn't even a century old then, and he went from a loving family to being alone in least than a week. He'd tried everything to get his brother to stay. No one had ever found the entrance to the horde's hideaway, and many had died trying. It was well guarded, not to mentioned in the middle of the coldest and roughest terrain in Russia. Hypothermia may not kill Lykaes, but it slowed them down and caused them to lose limbs. It was hard to fight when you only had one leg to stand on. But, his brother left anyway. Luka knew he was either dead, or locked in the horde's dungeons, driven mad from centuries of torture.
"Oh, Luka. I'm so sorry." Kira said as she put her hand on top of his. She'd seen the pain in his eyes, which had flashed ice blue, as he told the story of his family's demise. She couldn't imagine what it must have been like to lose everyone. Yes, her mother had been killed too, but she was too young to remember
"It was a long time ago. How old are you? he asked, trying to change the subject. He didn't want to linger on the pain and loss of his family. He wanted to start a new family with his mate. Lykaes could reproduce with creatures who were not their mates, and some chose to when they'd given up on finding them, but he could never see himself settling down with anyone else. Another reason was when one of them found their mates, it left the other heartbroken. It wasn't something he wanted any part of, so he'd waited.
"Around five hundred, give or take a decade. You?"
"Almost eight hundred. You seem younger than you are." he stated.
"I had a rather uneventful life. I wasn't exposed to a lot of things that most Lorean children are exposed to. I was lucky." she said as she finished the last of her salmon. He nodded in agreement. She was lucky. The Lore was a violent place. A lot of Loreans didn't have children until they were older. The older you were, the stronger you were, and you'd need ever ounce of strength to keep your children alive.

Kira looked around at the humans at the other tables. There was a couple with two kids, and she watched as a toddler tugged on his mother's dress for attention. Another couple across from them were so wrapped up in each other, they hadn't even touched their food. "Are you gonna answer my earlier question?" Luka asked, interrupting her.
"What question? About the castes?" she asked, and he nodded in response. She normally wouldn't reveal such information about herself. It was better for the enemy to be oblivious about her powers, but he wasn't exactly an enemy. She also grudgingly thought that he was easy to talk to. "I actually belong to three of them. Conjurer, Healer and Seeress."
Recognition sparked in his eyes. "That's what happened to you the day after we met. You had a vision." he accused.
Damn him for being observant, she thought as she starred at him wide eyed. "No it wasn't." she lied.
"Kira, you're a horrible liar. I can hear the change of rhythm in your heartbeat."
Fuck. He's like a walking lie detector. "Okay, fine. Yes. I had a vision, no I don't want to talk about it." she insisted.
He studied her for a minute, recalling what happened that day. He thought about what could have riled her up so much. Then he thought about her reaction afterwards. Me. It had to have been about me. He knowingly smiled as he asked, "Was it no' a good one?"
"No. Yes. I don't know yet. I'm still deciding." she said as she glared at him. No way in hell was she telling him about that vision.
He hadn't completely blown his chance, so he decided to take a risk. He offered her his hand across the table. "Dance with me."
"What?" she asked surprised. "No one else is even dancing."
"So? Dance with me. Please?" he added.
She looked at him with his hand stretched out to her. He looked so vulnerable as he waited for her to accept or reject his offer. For once he didn't look so smug about winning her over. Because of that, she agreed.
She put her hand in his, and he led them over to an empty space that overlooked the East River. He cupped her waist firmly as they dance to the smooth jazz playing from the speakers. To her surprise, he was a lovely dancer. "Everyone's watching us." she whispered to him when she noticed everyone's eyes were on them.
"I doona care. Let them watch." He twirled her and brought her back to him, tighter than before. As they danced, the world seemed to stop, and only revolve around the two of them. She was his only focus. The curve of her body, the softness of her skin, the way her scent seemed to wipe out everything else out of his mind except for her. As the song was ending, he dipped her low to the ground and slowly brought her up. He leaned in towards her face, and glanced down at her lips. He paused two inches in front of her face, giving her enough time to move away from him before he kissed her. When she didn't move, he moved in closer, but before he could kiss her, their onlookers burst in applause. Bloody fucking humans! he thought as he was ripped away from the allusions of them being the only ones there. He cleared his throat and brought her back to her feet.
The car pulled up to Kira's apartment way too soon. She was surprised at how much fun she'd had with him. What surprised her even more was that she was going to let him kiss her after they danced. In fact, she'd wanted him to, and she still did. So when they got to her apartment and he moved into kiss her again, she let him. She immediately regretted it, because she knew she would never get kissed like this by anyone else. It was passionate and feverish. He acted like his entire world rested in the fate of this kiss, and damn if he didn't make it count. His lips were softer than she imagined they would be, and she couldn't help but enjoy the taste of him. She drew her hand up to his face as he grabbed her hip, bunching the fabric of her dress. One small tug from him would have it lying on the ground, and this would turn into something more. She wasn't ready for that yet. She pulled back, and they were both panting. She noticed that his eyes had gone from their soft golden color to the intense ice blue of the beast. He had to clear his throat twice before he could speak. "I apologize. I canna control myself around you." he said through heavy breaths. He stepped back a couple of steps, because he'd meant what he said. If he didn't leave now, he'd have her pinned up against the wall in a matter of minutes. "I should go." he muttered more to himself than to her.
"I think that's probably wise." she replied.
"I'll ring you tomorrow." he said as he grabbed for the door, and then he was gone.
Kira was even more confused now. She knew sex with him would be mind blowing, and if that was all he was after, she would have fucked him tonight. She might have been sheltered from the big bad world, but being a prude was just not in her DNA. Witches were slightly promiscuous by nature, so she'd had her fair share of lovers over her five centuries, but that wasn't all he was looking for. She knew she could never cross that line until she was absolutely sure she could give him all of her.
*****
Over the past week, Kira and Luka talked on the phone quite a bit. He explained his Lykaen ways to her, and she him about her Witch ones. She'd learned that his beast wasn't it's own entity, but more of another part of himself. They were separate, but it was all still him. The fact that the beast was him gave her comfort. She feared when she was looking into his ice blue eyes, that a rabid animal was starring back. Thankfully that wasn't the case. She explained to him about her castes, and what she could do. He seemed impressed, so it inflated her ego a bit. Since the Lore was full of violence, the Witches belonging to the Warrior caste got more recognition for their gifts. The Enchantress caste was also useful. Being able to enchant handcuffs or cages that no one could break out of went for shit loads of money in the Lore. Her Seeress caste was the most impressive of her castes, because information was priceless, but her lack of control over it was not. He'd told her more about his family. His mother was down to earth, and very motherly. She was always in the kitchen baking bread or sewing them clothes. His father and brother were both hot headed warriors who trained a lot, but they, including Luka she suspected, had a playful side. They'd play football with the other Lykae's in their village. Mostly their games ended with everyone covered in blood, but it was "all in good fun." he'd told her. He'd made her laugh and hung on to her every word. She'd be lying if she didn't admit that she at least liked him as a person. He was witty and had a charm all his own. This afternoon he was picking her up. They were heading down to the beach to swim in the ocean, and this time she was actually excited to see him.
The traffic was horrible, so they'd gotten there just in time to watch the sunset from the shore. They both sat down on the sand and leaned into each other. He lightly stroked the small of her back as the hue of the sky changed from yellow and orange to a brilliant pink. "It's beautiful." Kira excalimed as she watched the sun slowly sink into the Atlantic. "Aye, it is." he murmured into her ear. She twisted her body to face him and she leaned in to lightly kissed him. She let him deepen the kiss further, as he separated her lips with his tongue. She felt his claws scratch at her back as her hand rose to grab his hair. He ended the kiss by biting down slightly on her bottom lip and pulling at it before he let go. He gave her a lopsided grin. "Hekate, you're so....wolfy." she teased. He laughed and got up, offering his hand to pull her up with him.
They walked out into the ocean and swam out where they could be a little secluded. They splashed each other, swam and kissed under the starry sky. Both enjoying the company of the other. "I'm no' as bad as you thought, am I?" he said after awhile.
"No, you're not the same half-crazed beast I met almost...three weeks ago." Has it really been that long?
"I was only like that, because my ma- err a female was in danger." he replied, correctly himself. Almost three weeks, and time is almost up.
"Not exactly a nice save there, Luka." Kira teased.
"It's hard to erase what I've called you for almost eight hundred years, Lass. It goes against the Instinct to no' admit who you are. I canna just erase it overnight." he explained. This is no' going to happen in time.
That made Kira feel slightly guilty. She didn't know she was making him go against his own nature. She wondered what else he was holding back. Then again, he expected her to be his mate when they'd just met. Her guilt ebbed dramatically. "Is this hard for you?" she decided to ask anyways. Guilt be damned.
"You have no bloody idea." he admitted.
"Do you wish I was a Lykae instead of a Witch?" she said, not knowing if she wanted to know the answer or not.
He paused and thought about it for a couple of minutes before he answered. "I doona want to lie to you." Again, he guilty thought, "It would have been easier if you were a Lykae. You'd have the same Instinct I do. It's difficult, and I'm having control issues around you, but I would no' change anything about you. Our Instinct picks out our most ideal mate. Someone we could fall in love with, start a family, live out the rest of our lives with. Obviously, a Lykae was no' my ideal mate, a Witch was."
Fuck, that a good answer. You're just full of surprises aren't you, Luka? She thought, surprised by his answer. She watched him as he waited for a response to his answer. He had the same vulnerable look in his eyes as he did when he'd asked her to dance. It made her heart melt a little. She rewarded him with a kiss instead, and he slightly sagged against her in relief.
After Luka took her home, looking slightly disappointed that she didn't invite him in, Kira took a shower and washed all the salt water out of her hair. She laid down on the bed thinking of the last couple of weeks. She had a decision to make, and after spending so much time with Luka, the items on the con side of list dramatically diminished as she started ticking them off one by one. He accepts me for what I am, even though it was a harder path. There's no reason why I couldn't do the same for him. He wants to sink his fangs into my neck. That's a little kinkier than I'm used to, but it's a one time thing. I should be able to endure that. Could I spend the rest of my possibly long life with him? She let the memories of them together fill her mind. She noted each surprising thing about him. The secret vulnerable side to him that she'd glimpsed. The tender side to him when they'd dance. The safeness she felt when she was with him. Yes, I could. she finally thought. So what's stopping me? It finally clicked in her head. The stories he'd told about his parents. How his father had died, and his mother went mad from it. Would that happen to him if I died? She was already starting to care for him. She didn't think she loved him, per se, but she was falling for the Scottish wolf. He'd managed to break through the barrier she had around her heart for as long as she could remember. Can I handle that kind of pressure? What if I die a hundred years from now? Am I supposed to just accept that someone I love will die with me? That's just fucking absurd. she thought. Luka's voice from her vision chimed into her head. "You canna worry about things that could never happen." He was right then, and she knew he was right now. I can no longer let my fears dictate my life. What's the point in living forever if you don't actually live and take some risks? She smiled to herself, finally knowing where she stood on being with Luka, and tomorrow night, she'd show him too.
She let the stress and tension fade away from her as she drifted off to sleep. She dreamed of all the things she wanted to do to Luka tomorrow night. Unfortunately for Kira, she didn't realize tomorrow night was the full moon, and things wouldn't go exactly as she planned.

AUTHOR'S NOTES:
I was initially going to include a lot more in this chapter but this felt like a good stopping point. (That means next chapter there will be a sexy time scene. I hope everyone is ok with that, because I had fun writing one for my Burkhart legacy, so I thought I'd give it another try, unless someone objects.) There are a few bloopers with this chapter. The football (soccer for some of us) reference was a bit off. Wiki says the earliest historical reference to football in Scotland was in 1424 (Luka is older than that) and apparently the Highlanders in that time never played such a game. So let's just pretend that Loreans had football long before Humans. My next blooper was the sunset. Since I'm claiming this is New York City, there shouldn't be a sunset over the ocean, because it's on the east coast, and the sun rises over the ocean here. I didn't think about this while I was taking photos in my game, and I was too lazy to take more pictures of them doing something else. I guess that's the downside to being a little more realistic, well apart from the whole creature feature thing I've got going on. Another blooper was Kira's hair at the beach. I forgot to change it back before I took those, and again I was too lazy to start up my game to retake them. (Seriously, it takes like 10 min to get from my desktop to the game. It's ridiculous and I'm impatient) Also, the title of this chapter is a song by Bonnie Tyler. (I like to use song titles for some reason) The actual song has nothing whatsoever to do with this chapter, but I thought the title of it was somewhat fitting. This generation has to go by faster than I'd wanted. I was initially going to drag this out for a few chapters, but as I've mentioned before I need to get them out of Bridgeport before I start having errors. I apologize if this feels rushed, but this chapter is supposed to cover the 20 days Luka had before the full moon. Thank you all for reading, and I hope you enjoyed it.

Chapter Two: Hungry Like the Wolf
Luka began to follow the scent of his mate. He was unfamiliar with the streets of New York City. The city made him anxious and he hated all the smells. He and a few of his clan were here on a business trip. Before he'd found his mate, he'd wanted nothing more than to return to the Scottish Highlands as soon as possible. Most Lykaes detested the city in favor of the countryside and mountain ranges. There they were free to run on the full moon without risk of exposure. But, it looked like things had changed, and he'd be here for awhile longer.
Kira realized it was almost 4AM, and paid her tab before heading home. This part of town was mostly deserted, so she would have to walk the 4 blocks home. Kira shivered as the temperature dropped and it started raining. She was used to the hot humid nights of New Orleans, where you could hear jazz performers playing in the Quarter, and everyone was dressed in barely there clothes. She missed home more than she thought she would. The House of Witches lived in a manor called Andover. To human eyes it looked like a normal 3 story home with a white picket fence, but to those who could look past the glamor it was anything but. It was slightly run down, but it had been her home ever since her mother's death 500 years ago. There were snakes and toads littering the front yard, big trees and an iron fence that encased the entire property. She missed all the other Witches that lived there and she missed movie night at Val Hall, where the Valkyrie coven lived. Valkyries didn't eat, so mostly they threw popcorn at anyone who got in front of the TV. Kira's thoughts of home were interrupted by a feeling of Deja Vu, The ally she was about to turn on was the same one from her premonition.
It happened exactly as it did in her premonition. She heard a noise, turned around, and there he was. Blood red eyes starred at her with intense hungry. A half crazed smile tugged at his lips. He started towards her, and she braced herself. No way was she going down without a fight.
Luka stopped dead in his tracks when the smell of blood and death hit him. A vampire was somewhere close....and so was his mate. The beast inside of him was clawing to get free, and he let it.
Trying to concentrate on conjuring a sword while there was a vampire about to rip into your throat was more than Kira could handle. She wasn't very skilled in combat, but having a pointy object would help her in this situation. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw another man seem to appear out of no where. If a man was what you could call him. He was more beast than anything. Huge fangs protruded from his mouth and long black claws shot out of his fingertips. A Lykae, she thought. She'd only seen one or two before, but she was sure that was what this new creature was. The vampire was too consumed by his blood craze to notice the huge claw-tipped hand rise next his head. In one swift motion that her eyes could barely follow, the Lykae struck out and completely removed the vampire's head from the rest of his body. As it flew, it slung blood all over her and landed about 50 feet away. It took everything she had not to throw up right there. She wasn't used to the horror or gore of battle, and had only seen something like this once. Mostly, Witches were only concerned with trading in their spells for money, not the glory of fighting on a battlefield.
Luka tried to rein in the beast, but it was no use. It wasn't satisfied with the single vampire, it needed more bloodshed. The man in him knew his mate was terrified of him, and he didn't blame her.
KIra stood, shell-shocked, and starred at the Lykae in front of her. Blood dripped from this face and his hands. His eyes was ice blue, but it was what she saw in them that made her fear triple. Hunger. Not the same as the vampire's, this was sexual hunger. Oh, Hekate. What have I gotten myself into now?
The Lykae took a step towards her and she froze in terror. "I'm no' gonna hurt you." he said in a thick Scottish accent.
"Please, I appreciate the help in taking down the vampire. I don't know what it is you want from me, bu..."
"Help?" he interrupted and gave her what could only be described as a wolfy grin.
"Ok, fine. YOU took out the vampire, but that doesn't mean I owe you anything. I didn't ask you to do that."
"I doona remember asking for anything." he replied.
"Look, it doesn't matter. I just want to go home and shower to wash all the blood off."
"I'll walk you home." "No, that won't be necessary." she told him as she backed away from him slowly. She didn't want to risk running away. For all she knew he got off on the chase.
"I doona remember asking if I could do that either." he bit out. The Instinct inside Luka was trying to take him over. If he didn't get away from her soon, he'd have her pinned on the asphalt while he ripped off her dress. But he didn't want her to walk home alone, so he tried to appease his beast by learning something about her. "What's your name, Lass?"
"Kira." she answered, annoyed that she was caked in blood and the Lykae didn't seem to want to leave her alone. But she wasn't stupid. As long as she could at least play nice, it was possible that she wouldn't end up as a pile of shredded meat on the ground.
"Luka" he said without her asking.
As they started towards her apartment building, she silently surveyed him as they walked along the sidewalk. Now that his face had returned to normal, she couldn't lie to herself. She found him attractive. He wasn't classically handsome though. He had a roughness about him. He was surprisingly graceful as he walked and she could see the bulge of each muscle through his shirt. His eyes were what caught her attention though. They were a beautiful golden color, almost unnaturally so. I really need to get laid soon before my standards drop lower than they already are. she thought as they walked up the stairs to her apartment complex. Wait a second... "How did you know where I lived?" she asked him suspiciously.
"Your scent." he replied as if that was a good enough reason as any. He didn't want to let her go, but knew she had been through a lot tonight. The Lykae Clan reveled in food, touch, and sex. And if he didn't leave soon, he would satisfy at least two of those needs.
Kira was about to walk through the door, but stopped herself. Something didn't add up to her. "Why did you save me from the vampire? Why is that you seem to care about someone who is not of your kind?" she asked.
He didn't know what else to tell her besides the truth. "Because you're mine." he simply answered.
"Yours? Your what? I'm not a piece of land, you can't just own me." she said agitated at him, despite the fact that she wanted to dig her nails into his pectoral muscles.
"My mate. Lykae's smell out their mates and you're mine." He said proudly.
Well she didn't mind being the one to burst his bubble. "I don't know you, you don't know me. I am not yours. You don't own me and you never will. Obviously you're wrong, because you and I aren't going to work out." She said, annoyed that he thought she belonged to him.
"I canna change what you are to me, Lass, no one can." He said and simply turned and walked away. Kira stood in the door, shocked at the way tonight had turned out.
Kira walked up the stairs, unlocked her door, and headed straight for the bathroom. She stripped off her clothes and got in the shower. She scrubbed the blood off and let the hot water fall on her body. She thought back to her first memory of a Lykae. Her and a few other witches were at a Lore bar hanging out with a few Dream Demons. One of the Demons hit on a pretty blonde girl sitting at the bar, not knowing she was mated to a Lykae. The demon had laid his hand on her upper thigh, and then a roar so deafening shook the entire bar. Kira had never heard anything like it. By the time that Lykae was finished with the Demon, they had to scrap some of him off the ceiling. Violence was extremely common in the Lore, but they didn't mean Kira was used to it. She admitted to herself that she'd been a little more protected then most. When her mother died, she was raised by the older witches at Andover. It had been awhile since any children had grown up there, so they coddled and shielded her from the world. The Valkyries had broken through that shield a little, but nothing prepared her for the carnage a Lykae could accomplish, and apparently one of them thought he was mated to her. Kira got out of the shower, dried off, and put on an old night shirt. I need a drink...or seven. she thought as she headed to her newly conjured bar.
Kira grabbed the bottle of demon brew she'd brought with her from New Orleans and poured some in a glass. She started to take small sips, but the more she thought about her predicament, the faster she started drinking. By her fifth glass she was feeling warm and dizzy. She knew the drinking wouldn't help solve anything, but it made her feel better, because she still couldn't get the last thing Luka had said out of her head, "I canna change what you are to me, Lass, no one can." No one? she thought. We'll see about that.
A mile or so away, Luka was quiet since he'd returned, covered in blood, but no one said anything. After he showered, he sat around the fire with some of the members of the Lykae Clan. "Are you gonna tell us what happened?" Darius asked as he sat on the floor.
"I doona want to talk about it." Luka growled.
"I've known you for over 300 years, Luka. You have never been this quiet and all to yourself. What's going on?" Darius persisted.
Luka decided to break down and tell them. "I found my mate"
After some congratulations and even a few looks of envy, Darius said, "So what's the problem. Is she no' what you expected?"
"No. She's....Other." Luka replied.
Everyone hushed at once. This time Leland spoke up beside him. "You need to be cautious, Luka. My cousin's mate was Other. He wasn't able to mark her before the full moon. When the beast surfaced, it wanted it's mate."
"What happened?" Luka asked.
"He chased her through the forest and she ended up falling off a cliff. A rock ledge decapitated her as she fell. It was a freak accident. The beast in him completely took over and he was crazed with sorrow and pain. He went on a murderous rampage before someone could put him out of his misery." Leland answered sadly.
That was one of the Lykae's biggest fear. The beast taking over completely, and the sure way for that to happen the the death of a mate. They only got one, and if he or she died the beast, nor the man could handle it. "I canna let that happen." Luka said, hoping that wasn't what his fate would be.
"You need to mark her before the next full moon, Luka, or else you may no' make it to the next one." Leland cautioned.
Kira woke up the next morning. After dressing in a sweater to fight the chill in the air, she called her coven in New Orleans.
"Hello. You've reached the House of Witches for all your witchy needs. If you're sexy, you may get a discount. Tell me what you're wearing." someone on the line purred.
"Arabella?" Kira asked.
"Oh. Hi, Kira. Have you eaten the worm out of the apple, or however that human saying goes about New York City?" Arabella asked.
"Umm, no. Listen, I've run into a little problem. I need to know how to get rid of a Lykae. He seems to think I'm his mate."
Arabella busted out laughing. "Hey, you guys. Kira got herself a Lykae lap dog." she heard Arabella tell the rest of the coven. After a few outbursts of laughter and whooping, she heard someone else say, "Has he tried to hump her leg yet? If so, did she like it? That remark was followed by another burst of laughter.
"I'm serious, dammit." Kira said annoyingly at the phone. She couldn't blame them. She would have done the same thing if it hadn't been her.
"Kira, I don't know. Did you try hitting him on the nose with a rolled up newspaper? I hear dogs don't like that." Arabella replied.
"Is there no one else there who I can talk to?" Kira asked, growing impatient with her friend.
"Ok, fine. If he thinks you are his mate, then there is only one thing you can do."
"What's that?" Kira asked.
"Kill him." Arabella stated. "You're his mate, Kira. He will never let you go, and I suggest you do it before the next full moon or shit will get real."
"You can't be serious? Kill him? How the fuck am I supposed to do that, heal him to death? I have no defensive power."
"Hekate, Kira! I can't come up with everything, but I do have some advice. If he comes over, you may want to put down some newspapers or something so he doesn't mess up your floors." Arabella joked.
"Oh yes, you're so hilarious." Kira said sarcastically.
"Well, listen this was fun, and I hope you fix your pet problem, but Helenia just came over with the karaoke machine, and if I don't go the Valkyries will hog it. Kisses!" Arabella said and hung up on her.
Kira sat down at the small wooden table in the kitchen. She felt worse now than she did before the unhelpful phone call. Kill him? I can't kill him. One, I don't have the power to do that, and two, he did save my life. There has got to be another way around this mating thing. I'm not ready to settle down, and even if I was it could never be with a Lykae. I'd never hear the end of it. Kira's thoughts were interrupted by a knock at her door.
Kira got up and answered the door. "YOU!" she exclaimed when she saw Luka standing on the other side. "Why can't you just leave me alone?"
"You know why. Look, can I just come in so we can talk." he asked.
"Fine. Just keep your claws to yourself."
"I would never hurt you, Lass." he said, hurt that she would think that.
"That's not what I was talking about."
"Oh, well that I canna promise." he said with a smile. Kira started to shut the door in his face. "Wait, I'm sorry. I'll behave."
Kira sat down on the couch and he followed. "Alright. Talk." she said as she folded her arms against her chest.
"I know you doona understand how our mating process works, so I'll try to explain it to you. Each Lykae has one mate. One is all you get. If something happens to them, our beast takes over and we go insane until someone puts us out of our misery. Each full moon, our beast comes out and we canna control it. If we have found our mate and they haven't been marked by then, things could get....bad for you."
"How bad? And what do you mean marked?" she asked, taking in the information.
"Like, me chasing you through the city, ripping your clothes off and fucking you in the dirt like an animal." he shamefully replied, but not able to hide the hunger in his eyes.
In her head she could picture what he'd said. Hekate, that sounds hot! Hmmm, he smells good. Like earth, trees and rain. WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO ME!? I need to remember he won't be the sexy man that's sitting next to me. With his rippling muscles and unnaturally golden eyes and...STOP! He'll be the crazed beast from last night, with saliva dripping from his fangs and.... "Marking is when a Lykae sinks their teeth into their mate's neck. It marks their skin so other Lykaes know they are off limits unless they want to fight to the death." Ok I'm definitely over it now. She thought, after he told her that last bit of information.
"You expect me to let you bite on my neck like I'm your fucking chew toy?" she asked disgusted.
"It's no' like that. It's the Instinct. I canna control it any more then you could stop your magic. It's who I am." He replied, defending himself.
"How did you know I had magic?" she asked surprised.
"I can smell it in the air. What are you? Witch? Sorceress?" he asked.
"Witch." she answered. Suddenly, Kira began getting dizzy as the future tried to pull her in. She grabbed the edge of couch cushion and let the vision flow through her. She learned early on to never fight them, unless she wanted her brain to feel like someone was hacking at it.
"Kira!" she heard Luka yell as her body slumped forward, and her mind went some where else.
"Children?" Kira asked as she propped herself up on his chest.
"Yes." he answered as he looked at the mark on her neck. It had been decades since they'd been mated, and he was ready to add to their little family. "Is that no' what you want?" he asked.
"Of course it is, Luka. I'm just worried about bringing a child in the world during the Accession. I'm grateful that we have the Lykae Clan allying with us and the Valkyries, but I don't know if it will be enough against the rest of the Lore. My mother was killed during the last Accession, I don't want my child to grow up without their mother or their father." she answered truthfully.
"You doona think I can protect you and any bairns we might have?" Luka asked, his pride a little hurt.
"It's not you that I'm worried about, Luka. It's me. We are physically the weakest in the Lore. If you aren't there and I get attacked, I have nothing to fight back with. A fallen Vampire, Fire Demon or any other number of Loreans could kill us in about 20 seconds flat." she confessed.
"Lass, have I ever left you unprotected? No, I haven't, and I never would. You canna worry about things that could never happen."
Kira thought about what he'd said. Nothing could over power him, and it was true that he'd never left her once in the 30 years they'd been together for more than a day or two, and even then he had one of the clan watch out for her from a distance. It drove him nuts, which she enjoyed, but that was also the last time she would ever joke to him that she and his friend were making goo-goo eyes at each other. That didn't end well for his friend and she wondered if that guy's arm finally grew back. She only did it to prove a point. She didn't need a babysitter, and she was furious when she found out he'd gotten someone to watch her, but that was before her child could be in danger, and not just her. It was true that he always made her feel safe, and she knew their son or daughter would get the same treatment. "Ok, fine. When do you want to start this?" she asked.
"How about right now?" he growled, as his eyes flashed ice blue and he pinned her beneath him.
When Kira came out of the premonition, she was gasping for air. "What happened to you? Are you ok?" a frantic Luka asked.
Kira stood up and tried to walk off the slight headache she had from the vision. "No! Don't come any closer." she said as she threw her hand up protectively. She was angry with him. She wasn't ready for any of that and she felt like he was trying to push it on her. "I can't do this with you right now." It was easier to be angry with him then to admit to herself how that premonition really made her feel. She needed to fuss at him about something, anything. "You had someone watch me like I was a prisoner! Like I couldn't even take care of myself!"
"What the bloody hell are you talking about?!" he exclaimed. "I doona understand what happened!"
She felt a twinge of guilt at the look on his face. He looked confused and tired, like he had the entire world on his shoulders. "Just please, go. I need some time to sort things out. I know you don't understand why I can't just go along with your mating thing, but I can't. I don't love you and you don't love me. Do you?"
"No, I doona love you. That's no' something that usually matters. We mate because the Instinct tells us to." he admitted.
"I don't have that, Luka. I don't have something inside of me, telling me you're the one. How can you ask me to be with you when neither one of us loves each other? For the rest of my life? We're immortal, it could literally be forever." she said, trying to get him to understand.
Luka thought for a minute. It was true he didn't love her, but he knew he could. That's how it worked. The Instinct worked by finding your ideal mate, someone each Lykae could love and spend the rest of their life with. He knew that, but she couldn't accept that one day he would love her. Then again, she was Other. She might never come to love him back. He had less than 20 days before the next full moon. If he was going to do this, he'd have to do it fast. "Let's get to know each other then, spend some time together." he offered.
"What happens when the full moon comes?" she asked.
"I'll control the beast until you're ready." he lied, hoping it wouldn't come to him chasing after her in the city.
"Alright, fine. I'll spend some time with you, but no more mate talk. Ok?" she asked.
"Aye." he agreed.
After Luka finally left, Kira rubbed her temples with her fingers, trying to get the raging headache to stop. Premonitions sometimes caused them, but she hadn't had one this bad in awhile. She couldn't believe she agreed to give him a chance, especially since she was contemplating killing him this morning. But, not only could she not kill him, she didn't really want to anyway. There was something about him that seemed to call to her. Witches didn't have destined mates, but there was something about him that she couldn't shake. She replayed the premonition in her mind, letting everything really sink in. She felt completely safe with him, which was a first for her. She learned at a young age that there was no safe place in the Lore. Her mother was one of the most powerful witches in the world, and the only one to belong to all 5 castes and she had still died from a careless mistake, but Luka had seemed to erase the last 500 years of her experience, and gave her the comfort of feeling safe in her premonition. She wasn't sure what she was going to do about him, but she would keep their agreement and give them a chance. Her vision had given her a glimpse into the future, but that future wasn't set in stone. It was however, messing with her head. She always felt like she was there in her premonitions, in her future body. She'd felt his soft skin under her hands, saw the hurt in his eyes when she questioned having children and felt the excitement when those eyes flashed from golden to ice blue when he pinned her down, because she'd known what was coming. She needed to try and forget her vision, because she needed to think with a clear head. It was hard to do that when Luka's naked body sprawled out on the bed kept flashing through her mind though....

NOTES:
Whew! This was a long chapter by my standards, so I hope you guys enjoyed it. I had a hard time trying to end it, but hopefully that didn't show. I wrote this in between reading other legacy stories, so there may be a bit of a flow issue. I just know everyone liked my sweet, awesome Photoshop skills though. Haha. This chapter had a lot of information and I hope everyone understood everything. If not, just ask! This generation really had nothing to hide, but for my future generations, I will be hiding the marital structure and number of children, because I have plans for those who are supposed to be single. *evil laugh* I also noticed that since everyone is supposed to be immortal, I'm going to have to time jump around in my story. I don't need to get too carried away, because before I know it we will be in the year 5000, and that's not where I'm going with this. I hope Luka's accent was done halfway decent. Obviously, I'm not Scottish, so I struggled with that a bit. However, if there is anyone who is familiar with it, I'd appreciate any help you could give. Thank you guys for reading and leaving comments. I always love reading everyone's comments, and I appreciate it when you guys take the time to leave them. Seriously, you guys are amazing. Thanks again!

Chapter One: Hot Child in the City
Kira walked in to her new apartment. She'd moved from The Big Easy to The Big Apple. She sat down on the dusty old couch and looked around. She wasn't used to being on her own. Before the move, she'd lived in a coven full of Witches. Half of which would have been committed to the crazy house if they'd been judge by human's society. As a whole, witches loved to party. There was always different factions of the Lore at the Manor and most were half clothed, or so drunk on demon brew that they didn't know their first name, and Kira wasn't any different. The House of Witches was divided into 5 castes: Warrior, Healer, Enchantress, Conjurer and Seeress. Most witches belonged in at least one or two, but Kira belonged in 3 castes: Healer, Conjurer and Seeress. It was rare to have more than two, and she only knew of one witch who'd had all 5. That witch was her mother, but she was killed in the last Accession by a fallen vampire. The Accession is a mystical checks-and-balances system for The Lore. It turns factions against each other every 500 years or so. There are two sides, the Pravus and the Vertas. Vertas were on the side of good...mostly, and Pravus are usually composed of the evil factions. Kira could feel that the Accession was close again. She'd been 3 years old during her first one. The House of Witches fought with the Valkyries on the Vertas side, but they'd lost the 5 Accessions. Kira shook her head to throw off her growing fear of the coming Accession. She looked down at the filthy couch and the bare walls in her new apartment. Well, if I'm going to die soon I might as well go out in style.
Kira waved down a taxi and gave the name of the local hardware store to the cabby. She could conjure all the things she wanted, but she needed to get a few ideas and designs from the hardware store. When she arrived, she walked down each aisle. She looked at the paint samples and grabbed the ones she liked the most. She noted ceramic tile designs and hardwood floor patterns. The amount of conjuring she needed to do would take a lot out of her, but she didn't really have a choice. Witches are mercenaries. They sell their spells or services for money. Kira's castes wasn't exactly rolling in the dough. She couldn't control her seeress powers, and it's hard to profit from something that comes on a whim. Being a healer for a bunch of immortals was mostly pointless, so it only left her conjuring caste. Back home, she mostly conjured precious stones and gems, but to someone who could live thousands of years, they weren't that precious. She thought about selling them to the humans, but that could get risky. Loreans were supposed to be kept secret from humans. Over the centuries, some would slip up which is why humans now had myths about them. But, she didn't want to be responsible for the Witches coming out of the broom closet. Plus, it was getting harder and harder for them to hide in this day and age. The camera phone was not invented in their favor. After going down each aisle and being satisfied with the samples she'd picked out, Kira slipped them into her pocket and walked out of the store.
When Kira got home, she sat on the floor, crossed her legs, and got out the paint strips. She closed her eyes and took slow, deep breaths. She visualized what she wanted, concentrating on nothing but the look of the room. She felt the magic build inside her, letting it roll off of her in waves. There was a slight popping noise, letting her know the objects had just come into existence. She opened her eyes to dark hardwood floors, dark blue walls, and a room full of new furniture. After repeating the process in each room until she was satisfied, she sat on the newly conjured couch and smiled. Now this is much better. No more dusty, old couch. No more walls with chipped paint, and no more dead roaches in the corner.
After her mental pat on the back, Kira decided a little fun was in order. She walked to the dresser in her newly designed room, and picked out the sexiest dress she owned. It was short, skin tight, and blood red. She would prefer to go to a Lore bar, but wasn't sure where the Lorean community was in the city. She couldn't exactly run into the street while yelling, "Hey Loreans! Where's the party at tonight?" So she would have to settle on a human bar. After she finished getting ready, she took the elevator to the ground floor and waved down a cab.
Kira sat down at the bar and ordered a Gin and Tonic. Human alcohol wouldn't do anything for her. Immortals had a fast metabolism, so she could drink 100 of those and not feel much of anything. That's why they had demon brew, but she wouldn't be getting any of that here so she would have to settle. Kira looked around at the humans awkwardly dancing to the music. Suddenly, her vision started to blur. Oh Goddess, not here! She was no longer in the quaint bar in the present. She was some where in the future and she braced herself for the vision. She was in a dark ally, walking home she thought. Something made a noise behind her and she turned around. A figure over 6 feet tall stood in the ally. She could smell the blood before her mind registered what the creature was in front of her. Blood red eyes starred at her with hunger and menace. His mouth was open in a snarl with twin elongated fangs that dripped with blood. A Fallen Vampire, driven mad by the memories he took from his victims' blood. There was a blur of motion as the vampire started towards her. Her mind snapped back to the present. She'd dropped her glass and saw it shattered on the floor. "Fuck me sideways." she said under her breath.
"Hey lady. Are you alright? I think you've had enough to drink for the night. I'm cutting you off." the bartender said.
"Yes, it would seem that I have had enough." she replied dazed. This was why she hated belonging to the Seeress caste the most. Who wants to see their death and wait in fear until it finally happens? Right now, she'd give anything to belong to the Warrior caste. There was a witch in her coven who could shoot sunlight out of hands, and she would BBQ vamps like she was at a summer cookout. She was utterly screwed.
Luka sat in the back seat of a cab with 2 of his pack mates. A scent crossed his nose and he nearly went berserk. "Stop the fucking cab." he yelled as he ripped open the door and ran. "What the hell is wrong with you?" he heard one of his pack mates ask, but he was already 2 blocks away. Mine. The beast inside had found his mate and nothing would stop him now. After running 6 blocks, he came to a stop in front of an apartment building. This was were she lived, but the scent wasn't strong enough for her to be home. He also scented the sweet sickly smell of magic. It was possible his mate was a sorceress or a witch. Which means he was screwed. Non-Lykae didn't understand how the mating process worked for them, and if he didn't somehow get her to understand by the next full moon, when his beast was out of it's cage and in control, then it would take what was his. He'd waited almost 800 years for his mate, and nothing could keep him away from her.

NOTES:
Firstly, welcome to my new legacy. I hope you guys enjoyed reading it. This was a short little chapter to start us off and I'll admit I'm a little rusty at writing. Secondly, I know it's off to a bit of a boring and slow start. There is a lot of information that I need to get out so just bare with me. I highly suggest you guys read The Lore page in the sidebar to get a background on everything. Also to non-Americans, The Big Easy refers to New Orleans and most of you may know that The Big Apple is New York City. Thanks again!
